Director
Alastair Lomas
Alastair was appointed to the Board in July 2026.
A strong advocate for equitable access to medicine, Alastair has spent much of his career working at the intersection of clinical innovation and patient reach, from reimbursement negotiations with governments that unlocked access to breakthrough treatments, to structuring the capital and partnership arrangements that bring clinical trials to life. At Amgen, his portfolio spanned Multiple Myeloma and Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia therapies, giving him a firsthand understanding of what it means when cutting-edge research translates into real outcomes for blood cancer patients.
Alastair brings a forward-looking perspective on digital transformation and AI, recognising their growing role in accelerating clinical development, improving trial design, and enabling smarter, faster financial decision-making across the healthcare ecosystem. He is passionate about harnessing these tools to extend the reach and impact of not-for-profit research.
Alastair joined the ALLG Board in July 2026, drawn by the opportunity to bring his Big Pharma, trial-funding and digital expertise to ALLG’s purpose of “Better treatments…Better lives” and to help ensure Australia and New Zealand’s only not-for-profit blood cancer clinical trial research group has the financial strength, governance discipline, and innovation mindset to sustain its vital research long into the future.
