2025 has been a remarkable year for the Australasian Leukaemia & Lymphoma Group (ALLG). Across Australia and New Zealand, our network of researchers, clinicians, and trial participants are driving innovation in blood cancer treatments, turning scientific discovery and research into real-world impact for patients.

Breakthrough Clinical Trials

ALLG’s 2025 Annual Review highlights key clinical trials that are changing the way blood cancers are treated. The BM12 CAST trial, published in the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine, demonstrated that a simpler treatment regimen can improve survival and reduce complications such as graft versus host disease (GVHD) for patients undergoing stem cell transplants. The AMLM26 INTERCEPT trial is pioneering adaptive, precision approaches in acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) detecting disease earlier and providing tailored, innovative treatments to keep patients in remission longer to improve outcomes. These trials exemplify ALLG’s commitment to advancing care through innovative, patient-centred research.
